Psychotherapy

connect with your deepest self to find

belonging, embodiment and freedom

~The crux of our work together is in showing up.

In your healing journey, I will show up for you solidly and consistently, creating the container of trust that healing requires.  As your brain and body take in what it feels like to be held with deep care and honor, you will cultivate new qualities of presence in how you show up for yourself and your people.

~Take in the nourishment of being fully seen in your wholeness.

In our culture, it can be difficult to find support where you can be seen and supported in your fullest expression and complexity.  I am committed to being that space for you, where you can show up as you are, in your confusion, your grief, your joy, your shame, your power, your knowing, and

so much more.

~Create your own definition of what thriving looks like for you.

I practice a relationship-centered approach to therapy that takes into account social location, power dynamics, and oppression.  I am not in the business of teaching people how to fit into narrow standards that in so many ways do not fundamentally support our humanity.  Instead, I help you listen deeply and trust your own authority to create a thriving life and healthy relationships according to what those mean for you.

How I Work

We will weave in a myriad of techniques to create a rhythm that works for your unique needs and circumstances.  That said, here are

some of the modalities that will inform our work.

Relationship & Attachment-Focused Psychotherapy

  • Understand your patterns in relationships, as well as how you might navigate to somewhere new

  • Develop your capacity to attune to the inner experience of yourself and others (“mindsight”)

  • Grow your awareness of your needs and boundaries in relationship

  • Reclaim a sense of worthiness and wholeness inside of your own skin

  • Receive contact nutrition and practice “savoring the good”

  • Learn how to be simultaneously empowered and connected

  • Repair trust with yourself, with others, and with Life

Body-Based (Somatic) Psychotherapy

  • Learn how to name and fully feel what is happening in your body

  • Tap into the wisdom and power of your emotions

  • Support your body to metabolize overwhelming experiences from your past

  • Integrate the neuroscience of trauma, attachment, and nervous system regulation with your relationship with your body

  • Incorporate evidence-based tools & practices to restore a felt sense of safety and goodness in your body

  • Develop your capacity to feel empowered and alive, even in the face of outcomes you don’t want

Depth Psychotherapy

  • Understand the broad arc of the story of your life: where you have come from, where you are now, and where you intend to go

  • Incorporate metaphor, imagery, ritual, ceremony, and dream work

  • Connect to your sense of purpose, values, and what you stand for

  • Develop a relationship with your inner parts and orient toward inner congruence between all parts of yourself

  • Honor the life transitions, gateways, and thresholds at which you find yourself through awareness of cycles & ceremony

  • Cultivate your capacity to be with the Unknown and with the messy parts of Life

A Note About My Approach

As a person and as a practitioner, I tend to be skeptical of superficial quick fixes. It is simply not in my nature to be particularly oriented toward "feeling better", "quickly moving on", or avoiding the hard stuff.

This doesn't mean healing will take forever (many of my clients experience relief right away), or that everything is serious all the time (I belly-laugh with my clients during session on the regular).  It also doesn't mean we have to rush.  We can take it at just the right pace for your brain and body, and you have so much autonomy and choice in what the process looks like.  Yet if you say Yes to working with me, my hope and intention is that you are saying Yes to healing and thriving at the deepest level, body and mind and soul.

I get that this might seem like magical nonsense to you right now.  I get that it takes great courage to reach for a way of being you long for but have not yet experienced.  You'll know if the Yes is right for you.

Psychotherapy is a deep and intimate process. Some discomfort is likely, yet you want to be sure you are with someone with whom you feel a strong foundation of resonance and safety. To that end, if you are considering working with me, please reach out to set up your free 30-minute consult.
